Irish Cultural Grants The Irish American Club will be accepting from September 1 to Dec 31 2009, applications for Cultural Grants to be awarded in March 2010. Applicants MUST be Club members in good standing at the time of application or approved by the Board of Directors for consideration.
Recipients will be recommended by a committee appointed by the President of the Club and Award amounts will be determined by the Board of Directors of the Irish American Club. Contact any Board member for more information

John Henderson's History
John henderson is currently writing a history of the Irish in the normally French flavored Lewiston-Auburn. The Irish American Club is proud and happy to work with John on this project. Congatulations to John with his project.
Bloom's Day
Nationally renowned dramatists Tony and Sue Reilly are undertaking the Celebration of Bloomsday in the Portland area. June 16th is the day marked around the world as the day James Joyce met his wife and lover Nora Barnacle in Dublin. Joyce's controversial book, Ulysses, which chronicles this day, is now considered a masterpiece and some or maybe all of it will be read and dramatized this year (2010) by Tony, Sue and others.
The Irish American Club congratulates the recipients of this year's awards and looks forward to finding other projects that helps the IAC to fulfill its charter of fostering and preserving Irish Culture and Traditions.
